So how is everyone doing these days? I don't play dark age right now (obviously), but I was wondering how Oboo has been over the past few months. I might be encouraged to come back (at least for a little bit) if there is still some decent activity. I haven't had much of a chance to really test out my new system for the past few months?
On an unrelated note, anyone planning on picking up anything decent on Black Friday? Later boos.

Oboo still has a few regulars that play and I have been trying to form nightly RvR groups if/when I get on.
The cluster itself was pretty much designated to small man, bridge and labyrinth camping with a large majority of stealther's (your infiltrator would be golden, although it probably would need a whole new template). Dragon quests and campaigns and updated items have made some older templates obsolete and most templates now can almost maximize everything. Most stealther's form groups of 5-8, few solo players exist.
After they clustered Tint+Kill the action is much better. You can go to the labyrinth for a more "death match" type of game play or zerg/8man it in NF/Island. Mids have had 80+ zergs during the weeks and albs are fielding similar numbers. The hibs, well, they usually field a smaller number. Most of everyone is at least RR 5-10 (with a large majority of people running RR8-10).
They updated the siege keeps and towers, but the update was pretty lame. Siege requires crafting now and siege tents, the only added bonus is that you can lay siege towers and actually forgo rams. The keeps require no bounty points to maintain or claim and all of the keeps are usually level 10. If you put a relic into a keep, I believe it has a slightly more defensive architecture.
Sorc's are pretty much still the #1 wanted class. However, most sorc's are split spec body+mind, since DPS is so d**n important. You can respec your starting stats whenever you feel like it on any toon. Everyone has almost unlimited power with the greater/average power mythirian's that drop in Labyrinth.
After I saw people camping out stores to "buy one of everything so they can sell it on ebay" it wasn't worth my time. All of those deals are online anyway. I'll probably pick up a new video card and perhaps a new monitor for Christmas though.

Some of the things that you say almost make me feel like starting back up would really suck. It is too bad that RvR has gone downhill to the point wherer it is just a min/max game. Oh well, everything is in the end, and it was pretty much that way before I quit anyway.
I stopped by Circuit City around 4:30, but apparently that is "being rather lazy", because I was looking for a few items that were ticket-only items. It turned out to be a joke really. Granted, $300 for a laptop would have been nice, but the people who got them were camped out there since yesterday, and even if I had the requisite ticket, I would have had to wait a few hours in the lines just to buy it.

The minimum was everyones max a couple years ago, it's pretty interesting to see. Even new players know about templates and have vent. The standard has risen a good amount. It used to be that RR5 plus template was the standard good route. Now RR8 plus high-end template is the standard route with RR5 the starting point. People are paying 100p for items to fill their templates and it's pretty common for lots of plat to be floating around.
Many people also have three or four RR 7+ characters they can lend to a group. DOT's are incredible, Mythic doubled the base damage and made them tick faster. Shaman is an incredible class. AOE disease is pretty much a group killer. Bonedancer's while losing their fast instant dd gained very improved pets. Most of them spec high into bone army now. All of the base nukes for all realms were normalized to 2.6 casting time. Shamans now have a normal nuke plus their other abilities.
Bolts no longer get blocked and their casting time is 2secs.
Tanks had a style upgrade and most of their growth rates increased and I dare say that most of the hits I see with capped physical resists are anywhere from 400 non-crit to 900 crit a swing. Mind that is swinging at capped swing speed also. They're brutal and and 3-4 tank trains will rip apart a group in seconds.
Stealther's run around with 5 or 6 different swords. The labyrinth thrusters proc a 125 dmg per tick dot that stacks with others. Moment of Zen from labyrinth procs a huge absorption debuff. The dragon chest piece for stealther's procs a large 120+ pt. heal. Combine that with everything else and 5 or 6 of them can take groups down easily. Oh not to mention a greater health mythirian will heal you every 5 seconds or so for 50+ damage and that's passive.

Sounds like things are just like normal then! Sign me up! ;D
I believe when I stopped, my highest rr was 5, but I think Chodar was about to hit 6. Too bad I'm such a lowbie. I think Criticism is pretty much the same, I ran with Lang for a while before quitting. I have him as a friend on my space, and he says he isn't playing last I talked to him.
